Thanksgiving pt 2

More pix from Granny's house.

Aunt Dona and cousin Madison. She is so pretty. We really enjoyed meeting them. Aunt Dona held me and loved me and cousin Madison played with Mommy. This made Mommy so happy. We like it when Mommy is happy.

Aunt Roxanne, Daddy, and me. Aunt Roxanne tried to play with me...but I was having some issues and cried everytime she came near me. Aunt Roxanne called me ShoNuff. I don't know who he is, but if he can rock my hair cut then he must be awesome. Cause the 'do' is a part of my swagger...get your own old spice!

This is me and Uncle Fred. He is such a big guy, like my Daddy. We didn't play much cause he only came for dinner. That's right. He showed up for dinner. Said a long-winded grace. Ate. Then left. That's family for you.

Me and Uncle Korlon. He was so much fun. He makes the best faces. And he does great sounds. We really liked him. We like him so much we didn't even spit up on him. See, rule number 1 is Uncle Korlon doesn't get dirty. We spit up on Mommy instead. She doesn't have these rules.

Cousin Eva and Grandpappa. He is so funny. This was just the third time all year we saw him. Mommy says that Grandpappa wants to visit us more, he just doesn't know the way to Alabama. He doesn't own a map.
Uncle Kricket and cousin Matthew. This was the first time we met Uncle Kricket. He was cool. He has a set of twins too, Matthew and Madison. Like us they were born 2 minutes apart.
This is our Uncle Kony. He is the best.
Ok. I know there aren't any pictures of Ysa in this post. She is doing her own post about our Saturday adventure tomorrow after Mommy gets the film developed.

Thanksgiving pt 1

We had Thanksgiving at Granny's house. There were so many people....Granny, Uncle Kony, Uncle Floyd, Grandpappa, Uncle Kricket, Aunt Dona, Uncle Fred, Uncle Korlon, Aunt Roxanne, Mommy, Daddy...then there were my cousins Eva, Matthew, and Madison. It was just family overload. But we coped!

This was the turkey. I don't know why they had to take a picture of it. But not only did Uncle Korlon take a picture, he took four....like the bird had a bunch of different looks and profiles. Uncle Korlon is funny like that.

Anyway, we were held and loved and held and kissed by everybody. And you know how we loved kisses.

I really enjoyed hanging out with my cousin Matthew. He and I played and wrestled and played some more. When I get bigger I'll be able to do more than hold on and laugh. He was so much fun.

I hope all of you had fun hanging out with your family on Thursday. I did.

RedRoom Update

Red Room Aunties....
We really do enjoy all the books you gave us. This is one of my favorites. I read it all the time. Xavier enjoys it too.

Because we're big kids now

Sorry, but I feel the need to write this treat-ish.

I do not like being awake and having to recline. The car seat is fine for when we are in the car. But when we are out of the car I prefer to sit up. Mommy was kind enough to get me and Xavier our own shopping cart covers. We like them.

His is green and wraps around his waist. He can turn and move and everything and still be safe.

Mine is blue with shoulder straps. I look like a high school student with a book-bag.

We have two strollers. One is a side by side. Grandmama uses it to take us for walks around the neighborhood. But since the weather changed, we haven't used it much. Our other stroller is a jack n jill. Xavier sits in front, I sit in back. This stroller also holds our car seats. The stroller is ok. If Mommy and Grandmama put us in it without the car seats, we can sit up and watch people. This is what we like to do, watch people.

I just thought I'd get this off my chest.

Don't we look good!

Happy Birthday Mommy

Today is Mommy's birthday.

Daddy surprised her and took her to lunch.

Then we took Grandmama and Mama to the store. We helped Grandmama pick out a mystery-thriller for Mommy. But when we got home we decided Mommy needed to play with us instead of read.

We love our Mommy.

The Age of Obama

Hello everyone. How does it feel to be living in the Age of Obama?
I am loving it. Ysa says waiting until January 21, 2010 to voice her opinion. (She is so hard to please.)

Anyway. Mommy has started taking pictures with her camera (and not the phone) again. We have a new banner. And here are some new images of us. Look at how we've grown.

Our Voices Are Heard

Well, you've asked for it. You prayed for it. You demanded it. And now you have it.

We Voted!

Mommy, Daddy, Grandmama, Ysabella and I went to vote this morning.

It was so much fun. I wore a denim jacket. Ysabella wore a brown jacket. Mommy had on work clothes. Daddy had on the first thing he saw when Mommy woke him up. Grandmama had on her "take us for a walk" outfit. We were so stylish.

We voted at the First Missionary Baptist Church up the street from the house.

There were so many people. We got to see the entire church as we walked all the way around and around and around to get to the back of the line. Daddy was glad to see the inside of the church. He's been talking about taking us there on Sundays.

Mommy was surprised by the early morning turnout. She said it made her feel good that so many people were out and in line and waiting patiently. Grandmama said he was glad we left at 6:30 since we were in line by 6:40 and there were more than a hundred people in front of us.

When the line started moving, we started moving. Me and Ysa had never seen so many black people (that we aren't related to) in one place. Not even at the Walmart!

Mommy voted. Then she left and went to work.
Daddy voted. Then he left and went to school.
Grandmama voted. Then she changed our diapers and fed us breakfast.

Ysa and I tried to nap, but so many people wanted to say hi and talk to us. And you know me, I like to talk. Now that we're back home, me and Ysa are going to take a nap and get some rest. Doing our civic duty takes a lot of energy.
