Hats

So let me say that Ysabella and I do not like hats. We look silly. Mommy thinks we look precious. We do not. Ysabella talked to Grandmama. Grandmama promised to never make us wear hats again, no matter what Mommy says.

Hey Uncle BJ, pt 2

Ok Uncle BJ. We haven't heard back from you regarding our contracts. Don't let this moment pass you. We want our first contract to be with you. Others are interested.
(we took this picture the day of the draft to help you out...if we'd had a contract just think who your center would be....hhhmmmm)
(see others are interested)

More on visit #5

Mommy was so upset. She didn't have any pictures of me with my Uncle Korlon. And she didn't have a bunch of pictures of our cousin Eva. Well after family visit #8, Mommy found a roll of film. Guess what was on it. So here's some more pictures from that visit.

Family Visit #8

Our granddaddy (Big Papa) came to see us. He visited us in the hospital but this was his first visit to our house. Big Papa was cool. He fed us and held us with the same hand. Mommy can't do that. We liked him so much, Ysabella spit up on him three separate times. (Grandmama was pleased by this.)

(us with Big Papa)

We liked our Uncle Fred a lot. But he kept picking us up when we were hungry or sleepy or needing changing so we cried every time he touched us.

(me with Uncle Fred)

So Daddy thought he and Uncle Fred were going to the club on Saturday. Daddy was even willing to go to the jitterbug type club for Uncle Fred to troll the young girls. But Uncle Fred and Big Papa got tired and went to sleep. It wasn't even 11p and they were sleep. Punks. Me and Ysabella were wide open. Ysabella was singing ("and the party don't stop til 6 in the mornin") so I started singing (the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire) and Ysabella came back with (we don't need no water, let the) and Grandmama shut us down. She said no more partying for us. It was 1a and time for sleep. Had we been with Daddy, he would have let us keep the party going. But he was being nice and let Big Papa and Uncle Fred sleep. They were still sleep when we woke up at 6:30a. Mommy and Daddy were up waiting on us. Big Papa and Uncle Fred can't hang.

(That's Ysabella in the back saying "sleep is for the weak." You should see her doing her suma wrestling poses. Ysabella is so funny.)

Work Day

We went to see Mommy at work today. It was so much fun. Grandmama got us up and fed and bathed and dressed. Daddy put us in the car and drove. Everyone at Mommy's job was so happy to see us. I was held the entire time. They all loved me. Said I looked just like my daddy. Ysabella was held too. (She says they held her the whole time too and for me to tell it all.) Anyway, we feel asleep after about an hour of being loved and adored.

It was nice. Mommy says the nice people she works with are always asking about us. It was like being a star. We were like Brad Pitt and Rose McGowan. (Ysabella says we were more like Leon and Halle Berry.)

Bobcats Go!

Ok, this is a personal message from us to our Uncle BJ. We are in the market for some professional endorsements. We have our social security numbers and are ready to work (plus Mommy says we need a job). So here are two samples of our work. We also have a portfolio if you need to see how we look when a professional is behind the lens.

This is my close-up. See how expressive my eyes are?! See my cheeks?! Don't I just look like the baby boy everyone wants?! And I know basketball.

Ysabella is showing you the goods. Now you understand we had to obscure some of the logo. No contract, no lookee. But as you can see, we already cheer for the home team. We like basketball. We watch the games with Daddy. We cheer.

So, Ysabella and I talked about it. We will cut you a special deal since you're family. Call me. Let's negotiate. Ysabella and I can do all your print ads. You have gear to move. We have the faces that can move them. Call me. Let's do lunch.

(Oh, if anyone else is interested in giving us an endorsement deal, call me.)

Father's Day 2008

We had the best time today with our Daddy. He got up and played with us. And fed us. And changed us. Then Mommy loaded all of us in the car and we went out. We like going out with Daddy. He takes us out the car seat and carries us around. (Mommy just leaves us in the car seat and puts us in the stroller.) Since I cried first, Daddy carried me around in both stores. Ysabella was slow on the power play, plus she was sleepy. Mommy let us take Daddy to the book store. We bought him two books. Then Mommy loaded the car and brought us all back home. Daddy fed us again. And changed us. He took Ysabella next door to visit with our neighbors. He took me for a walk around the house so I could see where I lived. He watched Talledega Nights with me. He watched Fast Furious Tokyo Drift with Ysabella. He held me for a long time. He let Ysabella take a nap on his chest. Daddy had the best Father's Day ever. (Mommy said she had the best day off.)

(Ysabella in a dress. Isn't she pretty?!)

(Me. Ready to go to the club and post with dad.)

(Me. Call Beyonce. Tell her I'm a soldier too!)

(Ysabella doesn't like the song Kung Fu Fighting. But check her out in her duck yellow belt kung fu suit.)

Comments

Ysabella says it's ok if you want to post comments to our blog. We'd love to hear from you.

Also, here are some new pictures. Mommy says we are changing everyday. We barely look like the babies she brought home.

Changes

Mommy went back to work yesterday. It was weird not having her here with us. Grandmama was fun, but we missed Mommy. Mommy doesn't let us cry a lot. (Ysabella says she doesn't let me cry a lot since she hardly ever cries.) Anyway, Grandmama took care of us and we played with her and napped and ate and played again. Grandmama says we were very good.
But I knew Mommy would feel bad if we didn't act like we missed her. So when I heard the door opening, I started crying --a lot and loud. Mommy dropped everything as she came in the door and rushed to pick me up and soothe me. I let her for a little while. Then when she tried to eat dinner, I cried again. I cried so much that I almost went hoarse from the yelling (it takes a lot of energy to pretend to be sad). She stopped eating and picked me up. It was nice.
Mommy, wanting to be fair, spent a lot of time with Ysabella after I went to sleep. Ysabella says they read poetry. She really liked "The Mist and All" by Dixie Willson. But she said the very best poem was by Andrew Lang.
I'd leave all the hurry,
the noise and the fray
For a house full of books
and a garden of flowers.

Smiles and laughter

We are 2 months old. Mommy said it was time for us to start laughing and smiling. She read about it online. So she and Daddy have been working hard to make us laugh and smile. Grandmama makes us laugh all the time. She asked us to do it for our parents since they are rookies and don't know any better. So here we are, laughing and smiling.

(me laughing at Daddy)

Family Visit #7

Miss Doris came to visit us. She flew in all the way from Los Angeles. She has known Mommy and Grandmama since 1986. Mommy even baby-sat Miss Doris' daughter Aiyana. Aiyana just earned a master's degree in social work. Mommy says if we apply ourselves and find something we're interested in, we can earn a master's degree too. I'd rather work in the movies like Miss Doris' son Malik. He does lighting. Doesn't that sound fun?!

Anyway, we had a great time hanging out with Miss Doris. We went to the store. We watched movies. We stayed up late each night. Ysabella spit up on her. I peed on her.

Another bath

Ysabella decided it wasn't fair that she didn't have pictures of her taking a bath. So Mommy took new pictures.

Aftermath of shots

Ok. We do not feel good. The shots gave us a "low grade fever" (grandmama's words, not mine). So we feel bad. We have gas. So we feel worse. Mama gives us Tylenol. I like the grape flavor. Ysabella does not. We haven't felt good since we left the doctor's office. Shots suck!!!!

First Shots

We got our first immunization shots today. We DID NOT like it. It hurt. Badly. The doctor asked Grandmama to help, so she had to hold our arms down. Mommy took pictures. Like we really want to re-live all that pain and suffering.
(Ysabella being tortured)
(me being tortured)

Anyway, we got a healthy review from the doctor. Ysabella weighs a whopping 10 lbs, 4 oz and is 21-3/4 inches long. Her head is 40.7 cm wide. She has a big brain. Mommy says it's because we play the alphabet game. I weigh 10 lbs even and measure 22 inches long. My head is 40.5 cm wide. I have a big brain too. Since we are so big now, we can wear 0-3 month clothes. Ysabella was in that size a bit ago since Newborn was clingy. Daddy said she was doing her Hulk immitation and busting out the snaps. I am still thin and svelte. I can still wear Newborn, but Mommy says soon it'll be too tight.

But let me say this again....WE DO NOT LIKE GETTING STUCK WITH NEEDLES. (The yelling is Ysabella in the background. She really didn't like it.)

Family Visit #6

We had a surprise visit from Grandmama's friend Ramsess. He lives in Los Angeles and is a great artist. Mommy has a lot of his art in the house. Mommy and Grandmama have known Ramsess for more than 20 years. That's a long time. Check out his website http://www.ramsessart.net/index.html to see his work. If you see something you like, tell him you heard about him from us. We get commission.

(us with Ramsess and Grandmama)
(us with Ramsess...he's so funny)

He brought his sons Taraja and Kitara to see us too. They are so cool. Taraja has a four month old little girl named Kali (yes Kali as in the Hindu Goddess of death, destruction, rebirth, and mother-earth. Isn't that the coolest name?). They were on their way to Florida to drop Kitara off at UCF where he'll study Film and Law. They took a slight detour to come visit us. (How cool is that?)

(daddy, Kitara, Grandmama, Ramsess, Taraja)

Family Visit #5

Uncle Korlon, Aunt Roxanne, and cousin Eva came to visit. We had the best time.
Here is my cousin Eva. She is 1 year and 10 months to the date older than Ysabella and I. We love her. Mama tells us all kinds of stories about her. She loves us too.

Eva was so cool. She helped change diapers and helped feed us. Here she is feeding my sister.

I was held by everyone, but I was gassy. So mama didn't get pictures of me in my uncle Korlon or Aunt Roxanne's arms. But my Uncle Korlon fed me and my Aunt Roxanne kissed me a lot.

Here's a picture of me crying. That's what I do.

Here is Ysabella. She is so cool.

Here are the two of us. We sleep a lot still. But mama says we are staying awake in longer intervals. Just last night I was up from 2a to close to 6:30a. She talked about it all day today.

Family Visit #4

So we finally met our Grandpa Oscar and our Aunt Sherri. Daddy was so happy. He loves his daddy and adores his sister so he was so excited about us meeting them for the first time.

Grandpa Oscar was so cool. He and Daddy had so much fun hanging out with us. They really loved me more (Ysabella says that's not true) since I am the third generation Goggans man. (Ysabella said so what?) Aunt Sherri was nice. She held Ysabella almost the whole time she was here (Ysabella says that's because she's Aunt Sherri's favorite. But she's not. Aunt Sherri loves us equally). They stayed with us the entire weekend. It was our first overnight visit. Mommy says we were good. We behaved.

Family Visit #3

Mommy had to go to Chattanooga for a doctor's appointment. So she packed up the car and off we went...me, Ysabella, Grandmama and Mommy. Daddy stayed home and went to work.
This was the first time we were away from Daddy. It was a little traumatic. Daddy missed us so much. Mommy said he would be standing in the door waiting for us to come back. We met Mommy's Grandmama Charline and Uncle Koney. Grandmama Charline was so happy to see us. She just loved on us so much. It felt so good. We like to get lots of love. We like hugs and kisses.

(Grandmama Charline)

(me and Uncle Koney)

We also met Mommy's cousins. She has a lot of cousins. We can't wait until we can walk and talk so we can play with them. We especially like our cousin Hannah. She read to us. Did you know "B" is for "Boy"? We also spent more time with Grandmama Barbara.
