Just Chillin

Let's start with Saturday morning. Mommy got us up and dressed and ready to go. I got to wear my football tie. I was very handsome. Lot's of ladies stopped to tell me so. I got lot's of love because of my football tie. Thanks Mr. Wes, the tie was a big hit.

On Sunday, Mommy bought us some house shoes. We don't like socks. Mommy gets tired of putting socks back on our feet. For the last three weeks we've had to wear one-piece, feet included, pajamas. This was cramping our style. We love these shoes. Mine are blue, Ysa's are pink.

Daddy and I watch football together. But when Daddy get's tired of the game, we wrestle. Then, after I beat Daddy a few times, he plays rollercoaster with me and Ysa. Daddy gets tired really quick. He can only do the rollercoaster four times apiece with us (back-to-back-to-back) before he has to take a break. We try to take it easy on him, but hey, fun is fun.

Ysa and I like having Mommy and Daddy around. We really like it that Mommy has started taking lots of pictures again. I'm trying to get her to take more and let me do more updates. So the big gaps in our updates are all her fault.

First Haircut

This morning Mommy woke me from a deep sleep where I was dreaming about applesauce and kit kats to take me to get my hair cut. Stella hooked me up.
Stella said I was a good boy. I didn't cry and act crazy. I was very calm while she cut my hair -well, as long as no one blocked the t.v. I was watching a cartoon.

I got swagger now, like my daddy. Check me out.

Bad Weather

We had a bad storm come through yesterday. It came really quickly. Grandmama was trying to take a nap and mama had to wake her up.

Grandmama doesn't like us to wake her from her nap. But mama said a tornado was coming. We didn't have the tv on and were listening to cds, so there was no news. Plus there was no thunder and no rain.
Grandmama got smart with mama and asked her why she thought there was a tornado. And mama said maybe because she just saw a tree fly by the window.
So we opened the door and there was a big tree blocking the driveway (see the picture on the left). Then it started to rain. Mama said we couldn't move the branch. Grandmama said we could. Mama said we couldn't. That daddy had to do it. So we waited up all night for daddy to come home so we could watch him move the big tree branch.

Here are a few pictures of what the storm did to the trees in our yard. Oh, and Ysa said for me to tell you, the storm lasted for less than 10 minutes. And daddy said for me to tell you that we were lucky, the whole neighborhood looks like a funnel tried to form but stopped short.

Another Update

Mommy and Daddy have been very busy. Because they are so busy, we haven't had time to update our site. Ysabella has been after me to just climb into Mommy's lap and take over the keyboard. But Mommy has defensive moves that keep me from reaching the keyboard. She's been working on a couple of projects and they keep her on the computer and very busy.

Grandmama rearranged the living room furniture. converted the end of the couch to a slid and climb on the couch to slid down the arm onto a padded area in the corner. Daddy says "who knew" because we can do this for an hour with little supervision. Mommy was a little upset because her plant had to give up the prime spot so we can have fun.

Daddy is studying hard. Daddy is also working hard. Still he finds time to play with us and love on us. Last weekend he took us out and we looked at a lot of houses for sell. They found one they like but said Ysabella and I need a job so they can afford it. Uncle BJ, what's the word????

We are starting to sleep through the night. I have dreams that we run out of food, so I wake up crying. But Mommy and Grandmama calm me down and put me back to sleep. Mommy says I even talk in my sleep "apples" "cheese" "more please" "thank you". She says it's hard for her to let me sleep in the big bed because I'm always talking.

I have almost all my teeth now. I think I'm missing only two on each side. Ysabella has a lot of teeth still missing. Mommy is teaching us to brush our teeth. Some days we take up to 20 minutes, just walking around the living room brushing back and forth and up and down. It's a lot of fun. But Ysabella has the pretty lime green tooth brush and I have the dark blue one and sometimes I want the lime green one. But then I get in trouble.

Ysabella has a lot of hair. Her head is covered in hair. It's all curly and soft. I don't have a lot of hair yet. We watch Mommy brush her hair in the morning and when she leaves for work, we grab the brush and brush our hair too. Sometimes Ysabella brushes my hair for me, but Grandmama takes the brush away saying "brush, not hit".

We are learning how to feed ourselves. Grandmama gives us a lot of fruit. We also like cheese toast. Yesterday Grandmama gave us chicken legs (Mommy said to say drumettes). We like chicken legs. I carry mine all over the house. And when Ysabella got tired of carrying hers, I carried it too.
Grandmama took our pacifiers away on August 14. We haven't missed them. Mommy says if we weren't so crazy she'd move us off the bottle and into small cups. But we end up pouring water all over the furniture instead of in our mouths.

I know you see a lot of boxes in the background. Grandmama says for me to say we are not moving. We like boxes and play in them all the time. Grandmama even fixed them with duck tape so they last longer. It's the best day when Mommy brings home a new box. Daddy says a box, some plastic, and some paper are all we need to entertain ourselves. We even make our own confetti.

A quick update

I know you haven't seen us in a while. A lot's been going on in the house. First, Daddy started his last 3-1/2 classes. Second, Mommy had a huge project at work she had to complete. Third, Mommy and Daddy went to Los Angeles (they left us here saying we couldn't fly on a plane yet). So here are a few pictures to hold you over until Mommy gets the film developed from our reunion and gets us back up and working.

Swimming Pool

Ok. So Mommy bought us a swimming pool for the yard. Ysabella cried everytime Mommy put her in the pool. I wanted to put sticks and grass in the pool. Both of us liked leaning over into the pool instead of playing in it. So Mommy bought us a baby-sized slip and slide. Ysabella creid everytime Mommy put her on it. I ran away from it.
Daddy took us to the big-people's pool. We had so much fun. Daddy held us and let us splash water and even taught us how to dog paddle. Daddy says he's going to find a place to get us swimming lessons so we can go to the big-people's pool with him from now on.

A walk on campus

Mommy and Daddy decided that the weather is nice enough for us to go on walks. So we go over to the university and walk around and around and around. We had a great time. Daddy says we'll do this every weekend.

Our cousin Ryleigh

Our cousin Ryleigh just turned 3. She is so cool. Check her out in her birthday gear.
I hope I'm as cool as her when I get older.

(I really love her shoes!)

Intermission

It was hot yesterday morning. We spent a lot of time in the sun washing Daddy's car. So when we finished, Mommy let us get in the pool.

This is me in my trunks. I am ready to go play.
This is Ysabella in her swimsuit. She needed a drink.
We played for a while, then Mommy said it was too hot for her to be outside. So we came back in and changed clothes. Don't you like my shoes?
Ysabella had on three shades of pink. But Mommy said that was ok. Don't you like her high-tops?
Anyway, the last two pictures were taken just moments before Daddy came downstairs from his shower.

More birthday stuff

So Daddy showered and got dressed.

We helped Daddy un-wrap his gift. (The night before we helped Mommy wrap it.)

I picked out the shoes. Xavier picked out the hat. Daddy looked so good.

Here we are with Daddy. Check out all his birthday stuff. Doesn't he look good.
Mommy said everything he had on -including his underwear- was new.

The big surprise

Yesterday was Daddy's birthday. We surprised him. We got up early.
Xavier was ready. He had a plan.
I was ready too.
Xavier got the hose and rinsed off Daddy's car.
Grandmama helped us make the soapy water. (We aren't allowed to play with the soap.)
Xavier paid a lot of attention to the tires. He says a car has to have clean tires to be considered clean.
I worked on the back of the car.
Xavier spent a lot of time on the tires.
I tried to help, but come on. It was clean enough.
So I moved to the front of the car and cleaned the windshield.
Xavier cleaned the rear window.
Xavier had a ball. And he let me help rinse the car off when we were finished.
